This patented Turning Tool Setter perfects the Tormek Sharpening System for woodturning tools. It enables you to exactly create and replicate the edge on your bowl and spindle gouges as well as on your flat or oval skews with either a straight or a curved edge. The setter works in conjunction with Tormek's Gouge Jig and Multi Jig. The Turning Tool Setter, when used with the Universal Gouge Jig on a Tormek Super Grind, reduces the process of grinding and honing a bowl gouge down to a 60-second process. The process is so accurate you'll find yourself removing the absolute minimum amount of steel to get a perfect edge. Bowl gouges (up to 1" diameter.) can be ground to either 45° or 55° and spindle gouges to a 30° fingernail profile. The TTS will also work with skews up to 1-1/4" wide, either flat or curved edge, when used with the Multi Jig. Thanks to the exact settings at each sharpening, you can just touch up the edge and the work is done in seconds. You do not shape but sharpen the tool; the built in settings give you predetermined edge geometries, which are recommended by experienced turners around the world.
